Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you a stylish rebel couple’s rainy Eiffel Tower elopement. We often get the question:
“What happens if it rains on the day of my elopement?”
Well, the better question to ask yourself is: are we an adventurous couple? Are we rebels? If the answer is YES, then follow along as you’ll probably be inspired.
N & D decided to elope to Paris and have a ceremony in the most iconic photo spot that the city can offer: Trocadéro. The only reason why this location worked is the fact that it rained that morning. Otherwise, the spot is packed with tourists and photographers. It’s probably better to choose an alternative elopement spot. We have plenty recommendations in our Paris elopement guide. For example, the Shangri La hotel has suites and terraces with an amazing Eiffel Tower view. This is an example of Shangri La elopement, it also has engagement photos with red balloond.
As you might know, in order to get married legally in France, you need to reside on the French territory for at least 40 days. For this reason, most couples wishing to get married, opt for a symbolic ceremony. This consist in hiring a Paris officiant who puts together a super romantic ceremony and you two stylish rebel couple, exchanging vows.
Regardless if you are eloping in Paris on sunny or rainy day, we would be delighted to capture this special day for you. As Paris elopement photographers, we photograph happy couples every single day and we absolutely love what we do. Let’s get to know each other!
One of the advantages of a Paris elopement is that after your ceremony you can get wedding photos in Paris, with a professional photographer. The stylish couple has chosen an itinerary composed of: Bir Hakeim bridge (Eiffel Tower view), Alexander 3 bridge, Louvre Museum, Palais Royal and a cool café. Quite an itinerary, but Paris has just so much to offer in terms of cool photo spots.
What’s great about the Bir Hakeim bridge is that it’s beautiful (if you like industrial looks), has a nice view over the Eiffel Tower and allows you to get easily next to the water of the Seine river for a more spectacular view. However, the biggest advantage of this bridge is the fact that it’s covered and you don’t get rained on while taking photos with the Eiffel Tower.
If you wish to navigate the city easily and also get stunning pictures with a vintage car, then you have that option. There are several vendors that allow you to rent a vintage car for a few hours during your Paris elopement.
The Alexander 3 bridge is at a 10 minutes distance from the Eiffel Tower spots. It’s particularly interesting for photos, because it has gorgeous golden ornaments and incredibly beautiful lamps. It’s probably our favorite bridge in Paris.
The next stop on the elopement photo itinerary was the Louvre Museum. Why is this location such an obvious choice for elegant wedding photos? Well, if you’re searching for French architecture, you will be spoiled at the Louvre.
If the Louvre only has beautiful architecture, the Palais Royal is a perfect blend of elegant architecture and nature. Indeed, the perfectly trimmed trees of the Palais Royal garden are picture perfect.
Believe it or not, the sun eventually turned up, before hiding again, allowing for another downpour. While the sun lasted, the newly eloped couple made a quick stop in a Parisian café, for cappuccinnos and croissants. Because: you’re in Paris after all!
We highly encourage you, if the personality fits, to use props for your Paris elopement photos. They give a fun dimension to your pictures and help them stand out. For the café photos, N & C choose to wear fun sunglasses. Remember, at the Bir Hakeim they were drinking Champagne, as a sign or celebration of their Paris elopement. These props fit well their rebel, unconventional and stylish personalities.
We have to say that as elopement photographers in Paris, we see many different couples. However, they all have fun in their own way. We love so much this energy and we live to capture it.
When it rains hard and we can’t reschedule the elopement, then the only option is to seek covered places. This is why we took the couple to Bir Hakeim, Louvre and Palais Royal, as all have covered spots that still allows you to carry on taking photos with an elegant Parisian backdrop. The last stop for this rainy Paris elopement at the Eiffel Tower was the hotel in which the bride and groom were staying.
We really hope that you got a little bit of inspiration for your Paris elopement and we hope that the day you will elope will be a sunny one. But please have in mind that with the right attitude, even rainy elopements in Paris can be fun and especially romantic. As a next stop, we’d recommend exploring our elopement packages and our elopement photography team. Also, if you need an elopement planner, we highly recommend checking out this list.
