Kids lose very fast their patience, so often enough, our clients reserve a mini session for their family pictures. We have designed our photography services such that we fulfill all needs: from mini shoots to multi hours Paris photo shoots. As a general rule, we don’t recommend family photo sessions in Paris, longer than 2 hours, especially with toddlers.

We want this to be a totally stress-free, enjoyable experience for all of you. We know what kids can be like – trust us, every member of our team is a parent! We want this to be about YOUR family having fun, together. This is why we would recommend hiring an associate to help with possessions, keep an eye on the kids and allow you to fully enjoy the experience.
It can be difficult to choose a location for your Paris family photos – let us help you choose. Remember to consider the age and energy of your children, which iconic backdrop(s) you want and how long you want your photo session to be. On average we cover one location per hour.
On the other hand, maybe your kids don’t like to have their photograph taken, or your dream Paris family vacation photos include your family on a sunset river cruise, a picnic by the Eiffel Tower or having afternoon tea at a luxury hotel such as The Ritz. Another option is to take your photos in your hotel. That’s great too! We can accompany you and capture natural, candid photos you’ll love, in a less formal atmosphere.
These are a few of our favourite iconic Paris spots to have a family photo session:
Trocadero – iconic views of the Eiffel Tower + a carrousel + gardens for the kids to run around in + nearby cafe for a break/outfit change
Louvre – the finest French architecture. A lot of open space for the kids to play
Tuileries & Jardin du Luxembourg nature, flowers, fountains, ice cream stands
Montmartre – lots of different scenes to keep children entertained, cafés etc to change
We do not recommend bridges for family portraits in Paris, such as the Alexander 3 bridge or the Bir Hakeim bridge for small kids. There are plenty of cars passing by and it can be dangerous.

When planning what you’ll wear for your Paris family photo session, try to coordinate loosely as a family. Make sure patterns and colours don’t clash too much, and avoid bright neons on top as they can reflect onto your skin. Additionally, try to match the levels of formality. For example, if mom and dad are wearing a suit and dress, don’t put the kids in jeans. Wear something YOU feel good in, and it will show in the pictures!

It’s best to avoid bringing lots of stuff to your Paris photo session, however there are definitely some essentials we’d recommend bringing. Try to stick to one bag or small suitcase if possible as it makes transportation much easier!
Comfortable footwear – mainly for anyone in heels. Walking between locations is much more comfortable if you have some flat shoes to slip on!
Outfit change if necessary – if your shoot covers more than one location, you have the option of changing outfits in between. If the weather forecast isn’t great, bring an extra warm layer for the kids.
Something to entertain the children, for example while mom and dad take some couple shots.
Snacks and water – keeps the little ones happy and means you don’t have to stop in the middle of the shoot.
Tissues/wipes – kids are unpredictable! We can always retouch the photos but it’s easier to clean them up as we go along.
There are a few steps to hire a Paris family photographer. First, decide on the date, early during your trip, location and length of the photo session. We strongly recommend to hire an associate who can spend time with your kids while mom and dad take some romantic photos. Then, look at our team of Parisian photographers. We are several photographers in the team with slightly different photography styles. Last, check our rates and availability and book a photographer online.
