This article explores our adventure of creating fashion photos in Santorini during the summer of 2020. As photographers in Paris, we have developed expertise in romantic photography and great knowledge of Paris streets and venues. However, from time to time we get to travel in France or internationally for weddings or commercial shoots. This is a great opportunity as visual artists to expand our creative vision, learn something new, explore new places and get to work with incredibly talented people.
Rebel Athletic is an athletic wear company, recognized world-wide for its luxury cheerleading uniforms, exquisite cheer bags and top performance cheer shoes. We have been collaborating with this cheerleading brand since 2016, when Fran, the original Paris Photographer, photographed their first Couture Cheerleading Lookbook.
Santorini is one of the most beautiful Greek islands and as opposed to other famous Mediterranean islands, it is not known for its white sandy beaches. Santorini can be recognized for the mountainy landscape, as it is a volcanic island. All to say that it’s the ideal setting for fashion photos in Santorini.
Everything on this island has contributed to create perfect backdrops for our fashion pictures.
The perfectly blue sky in a beautiful contrast with the white walls and rooftops of buildings and Greek churches and windmills.
Obviously, the Rebel family has brought the A-game when it comes to the details of the outfits, the uniqueness of designs.
However, one of the strengths of Rebel Athletic is to create cheerleading apparel that has the WOW-factor. As a photographer, the goal then becomes to capture, not only the beauty of the place and of the outfit’s design. But also, to capture that wow factor, by creating a wow moment with the fashion model. Since the 2020 lookbook photoshoot, a team of talented professional photographers joined the project. In the end however, the most important takeaway of such a commercial photo shoot is that we are part of a family. We make friends with people who share common goals: traveling, fashion and beauty. We can’t wait for the next adventure!
