When we imagine our dream elopement or wedding, many of us picture an Eiffel Tower wedding and it’s not a surprise that the city of love is a popular venue for exchanging vows. As opposed to a Paris engagement if you want to say “I dos” for a marriage in the French capital, why not choose to have it in the heart of the city, close to one of the most beloved monuments in the world?
Once the tallest manmade structure in the world, there’s just something mesmerizing about the Eiffel Tower. While it’s a must-see for a tourist, it has also grown to be the perfect venue for many weddings. Couples love the thought of having a symbolic wedding amidst the enchanting Eiffel Tower, where romance is in the air and love thrives. Eiffel Tower weddings can never go out of style.
If you don’t know where to start and how to plan an elopement, you should check our guide!
Before we jump into what kind of Eiffel Tower weddings are possible, I would like to introduce ourselves. My name is Fran and I’m the founder of The Paris Photographer. Our French weddings team, consists of hand picked talented French wedding photographers and videographers based in Paris, France. We absolutely love photographing Paris elopements, intimate weddings in Paris, gorgeous weddings in France as well as quaint destination weddings in France and in Europe.
Eiffel Tower witnesses various weddings every year, each different from the other.
Many couples opt for Eiffel Tower wedding elopements, which include just the bride and groom. Then, we have intimate Paris weddings, including the bride and groom and a few family or friends. For an event as small as an elopement, you can choose a public place, such as Trocadero Square or the Bir Hakeim bridge to exchange your wedding vows.
Here are some breathtaking shots we have captured for some amazing couples for their elopement photo shoot. Also, read here a Paris elopement guide that will help you plan the perfect wedding!
Choosing such a space allows you to get married in front of the Eiffel Tower, the pictures come out phenomenal. But that’s surely not a coincidence. To get Trocadero Square or the Bir Hakeim bridge all to yourselves, you’ll have to sacrifice a few things – namely, your sleep.
The Eiffel Tower wedding ceremony has to happen in the wee hours of the morning. Otherwise, you’ll find the venue crowded with tourists. This way, we guarantee you will have the best wedding in Paris.
For this reason, we don’t recommend public places for ceremonies. The tourist element takes away from its romantic aura. Instead, you can always go for an intimate Eiffel Tower wedding with your closest loved ones. Book a private location to have the ceremony.
If you want something even fancier, you can have a grand affair with big celebrations. A yacht on the Seine River is just perfect for that. Spacious enough for a larger number of gatherings, a yacht wedding offers spectacular views of the Seine River and the monumental Eiffel Tower.
Check out this dreamy yacht Eiffel Tower wedding. Needless to say, it was a night to remember!
While this holds true for weddings everywhere, to have the perfect Eiffel Tower wedding in one of the world’s most popular cities, we can’t emphasize enough the importance of planning.
We always, always, always recommend hiring a wedding planner. If let’s say, you choose not to hire one and do everything yourself, here are a few aspects you’ll have to arrange for:
We could go on, but we’re sure you get the idea. Now, imagine being a foreigner looking to have a destination wedding, and arranging for vendors in a completely unknown country.
Unless you’re an expert at this, wedding planning will have you wracking your brain. Wouldn’t having a wedding planner, dealing with everything, be such a relief?
P.S. Here’s an easy breezy wedding guide you might want to have a look at! It contains all the insider knowledge, tips, and tricks you need to plan the perfect Paris wedding.
You don’t want to be surprised by rain on your big day, not that it’s a bad thing. However, it’s always best to be prepared, therefore do your research on Paris weather. Choose your Eiffel Tower wedding ceremony date accordingly. You’ll want to choose your wedding venue depending on the weather, since indoors are better for winters and outdoors for the rest.
We love summer in Paris, as it offers a light breeze, a gorgeous amber glow throughout. And the best part – late sunsets, allowing more time for photographs!
We know you want your wedding to have the Eiffel Tower as the highlight. However, do you want a venue that showcases it as a backdrop, or do you want it inside the Eiffel Tower?
That’s right, you can totally have your wedding inside!
Located on the second floor of the tower, Jules Verne is a well-known restaurant and quite possibly, one of the classiest we’ve been to. It offers a spectacular view, a modern interior, and food that you and your guests will never forget.
We’ll just say three words: five (or seven) course meals.
Since it’s a popular spot for events, the restaurant offers partial and full bookings, with a minimum capacity of around 20 and a maximum of approximately 120 people.
However, there are so many other fabulous places where you can throw a memorable party. Check out below a short list of the best Eiffel Tower wedding venues!

We have dedicated a separate guide to venues where we’ve dropped the top locations to get married in Paris. It’s coming soon…
Dress according to the venue. If you’ve decided on an Eiffel Tower wedding ceremony by the Seine River or in a garden, it’s best to go for a dress that is light to carry.
However, if you’ve opted for a big fat wedding in Paris, in a ballroom or hotel facing the Eiffel Tower, then you can go all out in your dress – long trains, shimmering fabrics, whatever you want. Your dress is your canvas, go crazy!
You want to take our advice on this. Don’t just stop at the Eiffel Tower, enjoy the full experience of a Paris wedding. While the Eiffel Tower is truly a remarkable sight, Paris has so much to offer in nearly every nook and cranny.
We recommend you take out time to explore the city of love with your significant other. Go for a boat ride, explore the Parisian cafés and streets, and enjoy a glass of wine in a garden.
There’s so much to do, and if your photographer can be there to capture all the memories, that would be fantastic!
We’ve had the distinct pleasure of covering our very own version of the Eiffel Tower wedding. And if you’re planning to pop the question in the city of love, then you must check out our Paris proposal guide.
Photographing the Eiffel Tower at night is entirely legal for individuals, and they are free to capture and share their photos on social networks.
However, professionals face different regulations. The copyright protection extends to the lighting and sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower. Therefore, professional use of nighttime images of the Eiffel Tower requires prior authorization and may involve a fee.
The iconic light show that occurs every night falls under France’s copyright laws as artistic work. Therefore, it is illegal to capture/share imagery of the night-lit tower without permission from the Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel.
No matter how many times we see it, we can’t ever get enough of the Eiffel Tower, especially the light show. Happening every night from sunset to at least midnight, the light show begins with the first 5 minutes of every hour. In conclusion, plan ahead with your French wedding videographer, to catch the precise moment when the Tower sparkles. To have that moment in your wedding video. The sparkles are not that nice to be captured in photos, in videos however, it’s gorgeous.
Watching the Eiffel Tower come to life, twinkling amongst the starry skies, is truly an unforgettable experience. To get married here would surely be a dream come true.
